Now that the 3G version of the iPhone is out, the latest software firmware (version 2.0) for the iPod touch has also been released. <p>Are Apple really trying to make me regret purchasing the iPod touch?</p>
<p>Apple, Apple, Apple. You continue to disappoint! It&#8217;s just such greed from Apple that encourages people to modify the iPod firmware&#8230;this modified firmware allows the customer the <strong>freedom</strong> to install other software on the iPod and to break out of the restrictions imposed by Apple. <em>&#8220;Think different&#8221;</em>? Sure&#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks once again to the eagle eyes of <a title="Westminster University BSc: “amethysts emit high yin energy”" href="http://dcscience.net/?p=227">DC’s Improbable Science, here is his article on the sham degrees that Westminster University is awarding</a>. As DC goes on to explain, this isn&#8217;t the only university that is involved in such shambolic practices. And this isn&#8217;t just the abuse of science&#8217;s good name. I&#8217;d call it rape.</p>
<p>I bet Westminster University and other universities engaged in such degrees aren&#8217;t the least ashamed. They&#8217;re getting lots of money for these Mickey Mouse degrees. <a title="University corruption: sad but true" href="http://www.metalvortex.com/blog/2007/11/07/27.html">My ideas that univesities are there to educate seem to be old fashioned</a>. I despair at the education system sometimes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, it seems that certain forms of partnerships between universities and business can result in universities becoming corrupt both in the <a href="http://dcscience.net/?p=192" title="The Corporate Corruption of Higher Education: part 1">USA</a> and the <a href="http://dcscience.net/?p=193" title="The Corporate Corruption of Higher Education: part 2">UK</a>. It’s greed&#8230;pure and simple. However, I’m still clinging to my romantic notion that universities are there to educate, inspire and lead and that they’re doing so to a large extent. But then again I see that there are a lot of Mickey Mouse degrees these days with greed being the root cause.</p>
