Yep, you can just about see me at the bottom of this photo. This is the famous temple at Abu Simbel, Egypt. I reached the place by road from Aswan. You can also fly in if you want to and that will save a lot of time but it just seemed worth it to take the long trek by road. After travelling so long by road it's a pleasant surprise to finally reach Abu Simbel. The photo was taken in 1994 (I can't remember in which month as I've since had my passport stolen and can't immediately lay my hands on any other documents that would detail the dates).
