Tibet

A trip in May 2004 to the Himalayan regions of India (Darjeeling), Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet.

Although I've been at higher altitudes before, the first night in Lhasa was a real head-splitter! And then getting hit by food-poisoning that same night didn't help either...the infamous Lhasa Hotel has a lot to answer for! If you are going to stay at the hotel then I recommend that you read the hilarious "The Hotel on the Roof of the World" by Alec Le Sueur. Don't say you weren't warned!
